Privacy Notice

Horizon Roofing, Inc. operates Horizon Ops, a job-centric operations platform and the companion Horizon Ops My Day mobile app for construction crews. This page describes the personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to both the web application and the iOS / Android apps.

Data we collect

• Account email. Your administrator enters an email address when they create your account. We use it as your login identifier and to deliver magic-link sign-in messages, workflow notifications, and password-reset links.
• Mobile number and SMS records. If you enroll in operational text messaging, we store your mobile number, consent and opt-out records, message content and metadata, delivery status, and related support records.
• Push notification token. When you install the mobile app and grant notification permission, the operating system issues an anonymous push token. We store it against your user record so we can send you task and issue alerts. The token does not identify your device beyond the OS push service.
• Jobsite photos and notes you upload. When you attach a photo or write a note on a task, issue, or schedule entry, we store that content in our object storage so the rest of your team can see it. We never share it outside your company's Horizon Ops account.
• Operational records. Information you (or your colleagues) enter about jobs, customers, schedules, and meetings is stored so the platform can do its job.

What we do not collect

• Your device location.
• Your contacts, calendar, or call history.
• Microphone audio from the mobile app. (The web app's meeting recorder uses the microphone only when you press record on a meeting, and that flow is not part of My Day.)
• Advertising identifiers. We do not run ads and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• Third-party analytics or behaviour-tracking SDKs.

How we use the data

We use the data above solely to operate the service: signing you in, showing you the right jobs and tasks, delivering the notifications you've asked for, and exporting reports your team requests. We do not sell, rent, or share any of it with third parties for marketing.

Operational text messages

Employees enroll through an affirmative web opt-in form with an unchecked consent box. We use SMS and MMS to provide consenting employees and authorized personnel with daily dispatch assignments, crew and project information, schedule changes, task or safety acknowledgements, job-selection prompts, field-update confirmations, document or media-upload guidance, and replies to messages they send. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or call (320) 252-1608.

Mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Service providers

• Twilio — for transmitting operational SMS and MMS messages. Twilio processes mobile numbers, message content, attached media, delivery information, and related metadata on our behalf.
• OpenAI — we send job summaries, meeting transcripts, and risk-analysis prompts to OpenAI's API (gpt-5-mini) to generate AI summaries. OpenAI processes the content under their API data-handling policy and does not train on it.
• Mailgun / Resend — for delivering magic-link and workflow emails to your inbox.
• Google Cloud Storage (via Replit Object Storage) — for storing the photos and documents you upload.
• Expo Push Notification service — for delivering push notifications to your phone.

Retention

We retain account data for as long as your company maintains an active Horizon Ops account. We may retain operational, employment, consent, opt-out, safety, security, and legal records for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. When an account is removed, personal records that are not subject to another retention requirement are deleted within 30 days. Jobsite data tied to a project may be retained as part of the project record.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at kurt@horizonroofinginc.com from the email address on your Horizon Ops account.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about how we collect or use personal data, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify account administrators by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
